Foy’s Lake was excavated in 1924 by the Asam-Bangal Railway Company to function a water reservoir for the Chittagong area. The lake was named after British engineer who was instrumental in designing it. Foy’s Lake was created by constructing an embankment from one hill to a different across a narrow valley.
An funfair was opened at Foy’s Lake recently. The park was designed by the Concord group, who currently manage the running of the funfair under a 50 year lease agreement signed between the Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation and Concord Entertainment Company. Foy’s Lake Concord Amusement World is made to suits international safety standards.

Although the Foy’s Lake Concord Amusement World has completely changed the doorway path to the lake from the Chittagong side, the natural great thing about Foy’s Lake remains very evident. Visitors can take a ship ride round the lake to enjoy the breath-taking scenery of the world . Rides at the funfair include two high slides which twist and switch their thanks to the bottom , a high-speed roller-coaster and bumper boats.
At the time of the park opening, the minister of tourism for Bangladesh expressed the hope that the funfair will encourage more tourists, both local and foreign, to go to the world . The increasing numbers of tourists show that the funfair is fast becoming a serious attraction within the area. Visitors have expressed their enjoyment of the funfair . But many are even more impressed at the natural great thing about Foy’s Lake and its surroundings.
When visiting Bangladesh, why not put Chittagong on your list of places to go to – and luxuriate in a ship ride around beautiful Foy’s Lake.
