It may not be the foremost documented or talked about zoo on this list but the National Zoo in South Africa may be a world respected research center and famous for its successful breeding programs. So successful that the majority of the animals visitors see were actually born here. And there are an entire lot of animals to seem at.

 The numbers are quite staggering actually; 3117 specimen of 209 mammal species, 1358 specimen of 202 bird species, 3871 specimen of 190 fish species, 388 specimen of 4 invertebrate species, 309 specimen of 93 reptile species, and 44 specimen of seven amphibian species. Don’t worry about walking the whole 210 acres; there are golf carts you'll rent by the hour.

  Night tours and sleepovers also are offered here. An aquarium and reptile park round out this property and this zoo is rated together of the simplest within the world
